Future for KIDS Summer Youth Sports & Fitness Camp
Our annual sports camp was a major hit again this year. More than 180 children were able to enjoy the unseasonably cool June summer day. As for fun and games, there were nine stations with sports ranging from soccer, football, softball, and even endurance training. With all the dedicated volunteers that offered their time, the camp ran smoothly and the excitement played throughout the day.

Thank you to all the people who made this year's sports camp such a success. First, we would like to thank ASU Head Coach, Dennis Erickson, for hosting the camp and speaking to the kids! Thank you to Fry's Food Stores for donating the nutritious lunch packs, Rinny Dyar and Valley Transportation for getting the kids to camp, and PowerAde for donating the refreshments. Gustavo Martinez and World Net Soccer ran the excellent soccer rotations at camp. We appreciate John Wrenn from the ASU coaching staff, for helping with the details of the camp and supplying the equipment. A special thank you to Bill Puggini for his help managing the camp.

We would also like to recognize David Macklin, Jerome Daniels, Michael Bankston, and MarTay Jenkins, for not only offering their time, but for also taking part in the rotations and for the powerful speeches they gave at the end of the camp. Not only did the final closing words from all our Volunteer Speakers bring inspiration to the kids, it also brought a sense of community to the whole group of volunteers and parents who offered their time that day. We are already looking forward to the next camp.

Overview and Schedule
Our sports and education camps employ a curriculum developed by professional educators that incorporates drills, resistance training, character development, and group discussions on life issues such as substance abuse and anger management. Special instructional topics include nutrition, injury prevention, cross-training, sportsmanship, work-ethic, and living a healthy lifestyle. FutureForKIDS provides at least two motivational camps annually to underserved 8-14 year old boys and girls in the Phoenix-Metropoloitan area.

We recruit retired professional athletes, high school coaches, and volunteers to help us provide first-rate coaching to youth who would not be able to attend other camps of this quality. Each camp accomodates approximately 200 at-risk children from our Mentorship Program through our partnering after-school program facilities at no cost. The camps are held at our partnering sites or ASU during summer break and again during the winter holiday break.
