At the core of FutureForKIDS is our Mentorship Program, bringing children and mentors together to reinforce the discipline, dedication, and work ethic needed to live a healthy and fulfilling life. Our overall goal is to meet the needs of our young, at-risk participants by providing caring adults who offer guidance and life-skills coaching. Our site-based mentorship program places volunteer mentors in after-school programs throughout the Phoenix-Metropolitan area.
We recruit, train, and place mentors who are consistent, available and inspire local youth to be the best they can be. Our mentors are professionals, retirees, and students from colleges throughout Maricopa County who volunteer their time at least one hour per week. Their primary focus is to inspire, motivate, and educate children looking for guidance or a caring friend.
FutureForKIDS launched its Mentorship Program in 2002, and has successfully served over 3,000 children. Mentorship is proven to have a major impact on the lives of at-risk children. Our mentors share knowledge, skills, and experience to encourage our children to function effectively in the world, beyond the classroom. Most importantly, our Mentorship Program provides caring guidance to at-risk youth during after-school hours of 3:00-7:00PM when the child's well-being is most vulnerable.
